The exhibition “studies” is an exhibition of the process in my design work.

I use the models as tools in order to gain the perspective of a third person. 

I place a model discreetly in a certain scene and take photographs. Doing so gives me a sense of the thing already in use. The idea I created becomes separate from my own thinking, and I can enter the illusion that somebody else designed it and I’m critiquing it. As I believe that circumstance provides an occasion that allows me to make judgments in a natural state of mind, and as I think the judgments I make under that circumstance are the sternest, I will continue to adopt this method as part of the process to the greatest possible degree.

展示会「studies」は私のデザイン作業に於けるプロセスの展示になります。

私は模型をより客観的な視点でデザインを観察するための道具として使用します。

例えばある具体的なシーンの中にその模型を置いて写真を撮ることで、実際に使用しているイメージを感じとることが可能になりますし、さらに自分の出したアイデアから離れ、あたかも他者がデザインしたものを見ているような状況をつくることができますそこでの判断がもしかすると最も厳しく、素の状態でものを判断出来るタイミングなのではないかと思い、出来る限りこの手法をプロセスの一貫として続けています。
